Assessments Summer 2021
We have created this page to provide you with all the information that you need to understand the centre-assessed grade process being followed this year.
Evidence being used
This document provides you with a summary of the evidence being considered for each qualification when holistically arriving at a grade for each student.
Centre Policy
Our centre policy outlines the process we are using to awarding a centre-assessed grade.
Guidance on the process
Both Ofqual and JCQ have produced student-friendly guides to help you understand the process this year. These are very useful overviews of the process, both also providing additional guidance on what process to follow for appeals.
Special Consideration for Centre Assessed Grades 2021
Any disruption to learning that affects the whole class/subject will have already been taken into account by the school. Please use this form if you/your son or daughter has been adversely affected by COVID-19 compared to your/their peers, other mitigating circumstances or other concerns about the assessments used in the Assessment Record. In order for this to be taken into account, form submissions need to be completed by Friday 28th May 2021.
Appeals summer 2021
Students’ grades have been determined by schools and colleges this year as teachers are best placed to do this. The appeals process is a critical safety net in the event that anything goes wrong to ensure that each learner has an individual right to appeal their grades via a transparent process of review. See the guidance below.
Please note, you will be expected to write a short (up to 5000 characters) explanation for the appeal. You might therefore like to think about what you'd like to say before you start, as the forms cannot be saved part of the way through.
For any other queries regarding appeals, please email appeals@redborne.com.
